There Are Many Events for Jewish Dating Washington DC

I moved to Washington D.C. in 2006 and immediately wanted to find a synagogue so I could begin Jewish Dating Washington DC. I moved from an area that didn't have many Jewish people and it's very important for me to date and marry within my religion. My old synagogue was wonderful, but because it was a small town you'd see the same men over and over and I just wasn't into them. They were more like brothers to me.

DC was great because there was a larger Jewish community and I was told by a Jewish friend back home to look for some Jewish dating sites. I wasn't into meeting someone that just had a picture and a profile so I found this website called Professionals in the City that hold many events for Jewish men and women. There are speed dating, rotating dinners, seminars, wine tasting, and other kinds of events.

Professionals in the City has hiking trips, art gallery tours, trips abroad, and so many other fun things to do in the DC area. So I signed up for some events and went to them all. The Jewish Dating Washington DC speed dating event was fun. There were approximately 40-60 Jewish members, but you don't have to be Jewish to attend the event, you just have to want to meet someone Jewish.

I had a great time there but even though I didn't meet a man I was interested in, I did meet a woman who I became good friends with. We share the same values about dating and meeting Jewish men, so we went to several other Jewish dating events. Eventually, we started going to events that weren't held strictly for Jewish men and women and they were fun, plus I have no shame in asking a man his religion.

Jewish Dating Washington DC was great. Besides joining a social networking group, I joined a synagogue and met lots of people there. My female Jewish friends would fix me up with their single, male Jewish friends so I was never short on meeting new men. I'm very patient and will know in my heart who is right for me and who is not. One day my prince will come!

Get Connected With Jewish Dating Washington DC

Since Jewish people are the minority in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area Jewish Dating Washington DC will help you find other men and women that share your religious faith and values. I met my fiancé at one of the events that they held. If you visit their website you will see all of the interesting events they hold for Jewish men and women of all ages.

It's very important to me to be dating Jewish men. I met my fiancé at a baseball game they organized. We happened to love the same team and were both very knowledgeable, not just about our team, but baseball in general. We hit if off right away and ended up talking all night. There was a definite physical attraction between us as well. The most ironic part was that he lived one block away from me in D.C.

I was raised in a religious family and all throughout high school and college I only dated Jewish men. And as an adult I only dated Jewish men. But it's hard to be at a party and see a man you're attracted to and ask them, "Oh by the way, are you Jewish?" Because if they're not it's a deal breaker. That's why it was such a blessing to have found Jewish Dating Washington DC and participated in their Jewish only activities.

You don't have to be Jewish to attend their events you just have to want to meet a Jewish man or woman to have a relationship with. But at their events it's much easier to ask someone you're attracted to if they're Jewish. Jewish dating is great. For me personally I just automatically feel more comfortable with a Jewish man, but I also know we share a common bond.

My fiancé and I have been dating for four years. He had to move out of state for his job and also a family illness but I wasn't able to go with him because I had obligations to finish up in D.C. But I will be moving within the next couple of months and then I can begin planning my wedding. I've never been so happy and excited in my life and it's all due to Jewish Dating Washington DC.

Jewish Dating Washington DC Instructions for Speed Dating

When you first arrive at the Jewish Dating Washington DC event, you will receive a name tag and a sheet of paper to take notes.  The hostess will also give you a pen so that you can write notes down.  You should write down the names and dating numbers of the people who you meet as well as whether or not you are interested in meeting them again.  Also, take notes about what stands out about them; for example, you might be able to remember someone by how nice their eyes are or that they went to the same college as you.

You should ask emotionally provocative questions to everyone who you meet.  Since attraction and connections are based on emotional responses, questions that provoke intellectual answers are not much good.  Plus, if you hound someone with those types of questions, the speed date will feel more like an interview than a relaxing Jewish dating event.  Some good questions to ask are "What would you like to change about yourself?" and "How would you like to spend the last years of your life?".  It is recommended that the men ask the first question then let the women ask a question so that both people get a chance to talk in the 3-4 minute "speedy date".

Within 48 hours after the Jewish Dating Washington DC event, Professionals in the City will e-mail you a link that will remain active for 10 days after it is activated.  You can click on the dating link to view each attendee of the opposite sex; you will see their dating number and first name.  All attendees will have the option to upload a photo and short bio of themselves however it is not required.  You will be able to discretely let attendees of the opposite sex know that you are interested in them via the Mutual Match feature.  If they like you, too, you will both be notified.  There is also a private messaging feature that allows attendees to communicate with each other.  All messages are sent through our system so that no e-mail addresses are shared between the attendees without their discretion.

My Jewish Dating Washington DC Boyfriend

I met my boyfriend at a Professionals in the City Jewish Dating Washington DC event last August.  It was the fifth event I had been to.  I thought he looked familiar because I had seen him before.  Turns out, we had actually met on the Trip to Croatia a couple months before that.

I remember the night we met like it was yesterday.  I was seriously considering that to be my last speed dating event because I felt like I was tired of going to them and never meeting anyone interesting who liked me back (as it sometimes goes with dating)  Anyway, I decided to dig "that dress" out of the back of my closet; you know, the dress that a woman has maybe worn once but saved for a special occasion like Jewish dating events.

After spending an hour on my hair and make-up, I finally arrived at the Jewish Dating Washington DC event.  When everyone was getting their name tags and numbers and double checking their e-mail addresses, I saw him.  I can not decide to this day whether it was the sparkle in his brown eyes from across the room or the way he seemed to be smiling at me like I was his million dollar prize.  We got through two introductions each before we "met" each other during the event.  We had a hard time leaving each other during rotations, so we decided to ditch the party and go outside for a smoke.

That very night, we both agreed that there was no need to even log on to the Professionals in the City mutual match dating feature the next day.  Partly because we had only met two other people at the event, but mostly because we already knew that WE mutually matched with each other.  The funniest thing was that I admitted that I was not Jewish and that I was only doing Jewish dating that night because I was curious about it, and he admitted that he was not really Jewish!

We went on a couple dates after that before becoming boyfriend and girlfriend.  We will be meeting each other's parents next weekend.  I can not wait to see the look on our parents' faces when we tell them that we met at a Jewish Dating Washington DC speed dating Pros in the City event!
