I moved to Washington D.C. in 2006 and immediately wanted to find a synagogue so I could begin Jewish Dating Washington DC. I moved from an area that didn't have many Jewish people and it's very important for me to date and marry within my religion. My old synagogue was wonderful, but because it was a small town you'd see the same men over and over and I just wasn't into them. They were more like brothers to me.
DC was great because there was a larger Jewish community and I was told by a Jewish friend back home to look for some Jewish dating sites. I wasn't into meeting someone that just had a picture and a profile so I found this website called Professionals in the City that hold many events for Jewish men and women. There are speed dating, rotating dinners, seminars, wine tasting, and other kinds of events.
Professionals in the City has hiking trips, art gallery tours, trips abroad, and so many other fun things to do in the DC area. So I signed up for some events and went to them all. The Jewish Dating Washington DC speed dating event was fun. There were approximately 40-60 Jewish members, but you don't have to be Jewish to attend the event, you just have to want to meet someone Jewish.
I had a great time there but even though I didn't meet a man I was interested in, I did meet a woman who I became good friends with. We share the same values about dating and meeting Jewish men, so we went to several other Jewish dating events. Eventually, we started going to events that weren't held strictly for Jewish men and women and they were fun, plus I have no shame in asking a man his religion.
Jewish Dating Washington DC was great. Besides joining a social networking group, I joined a synagogue and met lots of people there. My female Jewish friends would fix me up with their single, male Jewish friends so I was never short on meeting new men. I'm very patient and will know in my heart who is right for me and who is not. One day my prince will come!

It's good that the dating scene is inclusive for jewish families. I met a few at lovestruck dating events for professionals in london. I've been looking for a jewish girl for quite a while now. But it's not as easy in the UK as it is in America I can imagine.
